DHK developed a conceptual design for this building for a client who was both an artist and a patron of the arts. Its space program was prepared to accommodate several private and community activities related to the visual arts. In addition to providing private studio space and storage, it was intended to host an annual craft fair, community meetings and an artist-in-residence program. The project required the rehabilitation of an existing masonry and concrete structure and the construction of a new wing to blend with the surrounding residential context.
