This building houses the operations of a regional transportation service as well as municipal services provided by the Town of Amesbury. The transportation component includes a bus terminal with waiting areas, restrooms and ticketing and an exterior platform loading area. Transportation operations are shared between the MVRTA bus service and a “park and ride” coach bus service. The municipal component includes a new senior center for the Council on Aging, Veteran’s Offices and Health Nurse Facility. The senior center includes function rooms for dining and gatherings, kitchen facilities, offices, classrooms, craft studios and exercise and recreational spaces. Site improvements include 56 parking spaces, landscaping and an extension of the pedestrian Riverwalk along the adjacent Powwow River. Energy efficient components of the building include T-8 light fixtures, low-flow auto-shut off toilets, conservation measures in heating hot water and a highly energy efficient HVAC system.
