MWRA Waterworks Headhouse – Rehabilitation Phase II
This project's primary goal was the replacement of antiquated equipment used to control the water levels in the MWRA system of reservoirs. The architectural component of the work calls for the restoration of ten existing gatehouse structures originally erected in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. All facilities are listed on the National Register of the Historic Places.
Work includes the complete restoration of existing masonry walls, slate and metal roofing as well as new windows. Refurbished iron doors, and replacement or restoration of copper clad cupolas, finals and other decorative building elements. The project will be bid subject to C149 regarding filed sub-bid work.
